Oh boy oh boy oh boy! He's getting closer!!! Does anyone know if the abovementioned, highly-esteemed dj from the heavens is coming to Canada ( Toronto, more specifically ;) )?!? Autechre were here three weeks ago, and this would just be icing on my trance-starved cake! Crispin -----

Yea, verily, I have been lucky enough to catch Morris three times this week. #1, a boat party on San Francisco Bay, with Morris spinning on the upper deck and Nick Philip and Space Time Continuum on the lower deck. #2, Morris was nice enough to come up to the studios at KFJC and record a 2 1/2 hour trippy ambient session, which I will be playing in its entireity on 1/20 on KFJC, 89.7, starting at around 10:30 PM. People in the SF Bay area should be able to catch this. #3 after my radio show on 1/13, I hop into my car and fly to San Francisco to catch Morris playing at 1015 Folsom. He blew people's brains out with some of the most screwed up intelligent headbang I've heard in a long time. Black Dog was featured prominently. Have you ever heard "Cost II" jacked up a few beats at megadeath volume? It'll change your life.So- I am drained, yet blissful. If you have questions about the Morris broadcast, email me.

As far as I know, he doesn't do much live PA...if any at all. As ever, he's THE ambient guru on the planet. Whether that's downtempo jazzy stuff like Jimpster or full-on NTone-type ambient stuff, it's always quality. This is a man who cares about music AND has good taste. As for whether what he's playing lately is like his own releases, if not in sound, at least in style...definitely go. no question. lie down and be counted. ---brian "Christian Vestbø" wrote:

not only has morris posted this little gem, he's also djing tomorrow night after the cinematic orchestra @ cargo he'll be on from 11 to 1am, but if you wanna make sure you catch the whole thing, we advise getting down there early. Cargo opens 8pm. 83 Rivington Street, London EC1 right off the Curtain Road... round the corner from smallfish records... hey its NUBIENT time again folks ....apologies to those of you abroad but those london boys are so jaded they need prompting all the time to get off their arses ... you can now have two bites of the cherry ... Nubient is now every SUNDAY at the GLOW ROOMS and every MONDAY at the DOGSTAR the dogstar is always full cos everyone knows it however the glow rooms is a new venue so it needs plugging! its at 58a camberwell church street, underneath cohibas restaurant at the moment i'm booking the same top guests on both nights last night we had ewan pearson / world of apples who i have never seen play before but i've been enjoying his records for some years, on SOMA and Giant 45 as well as many remixes he was excellent, but there was only a handful of people there! this isnt good enuff so get yourself down there next sunday from 8pm when the mystery guest will be Matt Black of Coldcut .. \ june - tom noble, blue states, broadway project, compost night, paul thomas, and in july bonobo, inertia recs, fink (who has promised to turn up this time) and pete lawrence of the big chill so as you can see top quality stuff all killer no filler and all for free zilch zero nothing at all!! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

we've asked morris a few times to update ninjaheds with current dates. so we can confirm or deny where he's playing & where he's at. we heard he dj'd at the cannabis festival in brixton on sat the 16th june then got on a plane for south africa for a solstice festival down there. beyond that, we've had various ninja forum members post that he's rumooured to play a festival in la 30th of june, but we cant confirm that morris isnt answering any emails. we know pete lawrence from the big chill & lol hammond are filling in for him this monday @ nubient @ the dogstarr in london the 26th. we know morris has been working on tracks for a new album in between dj dates and compiling lps for other labels. perhaps someone from hands on decks his us agent knows where he is...?? he is going to be at this big massive (had to use both those words to emphasize) rave called the Electric Daisy Carnival in LA on June 30th which is during the day and has carnival rides, is outdoors and is pretty close to Hollywood. Along with two ELM dj's (TL Smith and Trichome), Eli Star and a bunch of others... i am tempted to go, but i am too cool for raves.=) But will not miss Richard Devine and Lexaunculpt at an ELM party the night before.

May I say how jealous I am of you LA peeps for this show? If it was just Devine, fine. If it was just Lex, fine. If it was just the ELM Djs, fine. But all three at the same event? Hell, someone want to book me a one-day round-trip flight? But at least the Phoenix festival happening east of Portland, OR cum July 9th will soothe the pain. ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
