Not sure what the original poster's point is. There is extensive use of a 606 on Incunabula. They're well known for using an R8 and at least once when I've seen them live they seemed to have an 808. The minimum number of listens before reaching an Ae verdict is 10. I've passed that now and despite initial scepticism I think it's very good. np. My point I think is the same as your point. I was jokingly saying I was confused. I am quite familair with Ae's use of more conventional drum machines, but at the same time I think you would be hard pressed to hear much obvious drum machines on any of of their records apart from Incunabula )oh yeah there is that electro track on Tri); as they go on they seem to pull off more and more really mutated rythms. So I was sort of saying that I was confused because amongst all the DSP trickery going on on EP7, which seems forced, they then throw in some good ol' 808 which just seemed rather odd...sorry for not making that clear. peace Nate PS I had listened to the new one at least 10 times. Still isn't grabbing me. It's certainly not bad, it's just not grabbing me the way *all other* Ae releases do. I think this is due in part from the fact a lot of Ae style IDM has saturated my ears since LP5 came out, and I'm growing tired of it. Much the same way I tired of all the drillnbass that came out right after TJ got huge...but who knows maybe I'll like it tomorrow for some wierd reason... Zbigniew Preisner wrote:
