well, let's see../ in the past three years we've had maybe 2 "idm" shows in
dc...aphex twin and the phoenecia/metic/schematics thing (which also did new
york). three if you count mu-ziq opening for bjork. not terribly exciting...i'd
rather be in london.

Apologies if you live in South Africa and this has no relevance whatsoever, but
I gotta stand up for the Baltimore/DC scene. If you think nothing's happening
around there, check the Cloudwatch parties and assorted one-offs that the Sonic
Soul crew up that way are throwing. Just this last weekend they hosted Byzar,
Badawi, and DJ Ease from Nightmares on Wax among others. In the next month
they've got Derrick May, Funkstorung, and a showing of Modulations lined up as
well. Granted, most of the events are in Baltimore which isn't exactly D.C...but
if you're in D.C. you can still head out to Buzz every weekend at the Capitol
Ballroom. Lovegrove and the rest of the Sonic Soul crew drop leftfield beats on
the chillout deck in the summer. Check www.sonicsoul.com for details. It's not
London, but it's not all bad either...Brock
