I just realized, _after_ I typed this (D'oh!), that someone already sort of discussed the PR/Köner shows. Ooops!! Here's my post anyway ... No, there aren't any PR shows scheduled for the US and they aren't touring, I'm afraid. :( What did happen though was two free shows (6/4 and 6/5) in Montréal, Köner's 2nd appearance in North America with visual artist/filmmaker Jürgen Reble, and first as Porter Ricks. The duo performed at the Int'l Festival of New Cinema & New Media in Montréal in 1997 ("Alchemy" - Reble destroyed film as it played by treating it with chemicals & Köner did sound), and returned this year to help celebrate the opening of a fucking wicked new venue (IMO), the Ex-Centris. Both nights were very similar. The first hour was Köner's "Tabula Smaragdina" (an excerpt of the first live performance of this piece at the Louvre appears on "Kaamos"), where he transforms & electronically treats the miked sounds of Reble's multiple projected film loops, and adds his own trademark ambient & sub-bass atmospheres. The second hour & 1/2 (or more!) was live Porter Ricks (using mostly "Biokinetics"-sounding material as a base and expanding on it) pummeling all into submission, with 6 film projectors providing "psychedelic" visual accompaniment. In a word ... Mindblowing!!! -Patrick
