Great, one of the best show I went in a long time, the sound was fabulous, the music, well, was extraordinary, I have to get me a "Real" sound system to get these basses... a bit short, but who cares, it was free !!

For the second part, I agree, she gave a "portishead"ish show and bit funk/r'n'b sound, I never listened to her stuff before last thursday, but the first part was really good, dark, beats and samples ... Then, again, it was free, and I can endure a lot of stuff for a free show, if David Kristian was at beginning of the show, I would have stayed ! Porter Ricks, same place, same time fryday night, Wow !! that was also extraordinary; as much as Pole was into subtle sounds, Porter Ricks was there to blow up the speakers, much of his set was BioKinetics remixes and heck, that was so good, I have nothing more to say! First Part of the Porter Ricks was "Tabula Smaragdina" an ambient light and sound performance, the projections were cool at some points, and boring at other places... but all was done with real film loops. The music, was ambient... I have to say, that I really like Montreal, Two great shows in two days, both were free, ... Yes, it was good but I wasn't as impressed as some people from the list seems to be ( the XXX Pole Pics thread ). See why below.

Now, we talk about the real "star" of both shows, David, IMHO, completely blew away both Pole & Neotropic off the stage on these nights ( he was in Toronto also ), this isn't just my opinion but also the one from people I went with, even the ones that were there for Pole and never heard of David Kristian.

Now, I know why it's was called "heroin house" by our friend Simon Reynolds : durimg the set people were lying on the floor like junkies after their fix.

Yeah, we want more of these! ( interesting shows )
