there's a review of a record by Funkarama in the new Urb, and they say it's another name Funkstorung goes under...sounded like a more straight forward electro thing. What's up with Funckarama? Sounds like....? thanks, darren

Urb is wrong. Funckarama are two brothers out of the netherlands - don & pp schoon. I've chatted with them on several occassions. Funkstroung are friends with Funckarama and even did a remix on their first Djaks Up Bitch ep but they are definitely different groups & producers. Regarding new Funckarama releases, there should be a second Funckarama ep on DUB out any day now and possibly an ep on Musik Aus Strom later this summer. Regarding the style of the funckarama release, mix funkstroung with i-F and you'll get an idea what they sound like... -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

urb continues to write about electronics with an anus-pencil...credibility in this arena is not their strong suit. funckarma (note spelling) are two dutch brothers, one of which was a dmc scratch mixing champion.

right now, within the "idm scene," funckarma is the fence that divides the essential records from the boring stuff. funkstorung provides a remix on the 12 that, while it's in its element style-wise with the rest of the record, is the throwaway track. look for a review in the imminent issue of urbansounds. the only other info i've noted were the musical statistics lance mcgannon posted a month or so back. eric
