I just know what moves my heart to live and see life, I see music as love and it is so precious to me. when somebody insults that, they call it crap.. you don't seem to understand. I am not angry because he insulted my opinion, I am not angry that he ruined my "pride". I am fusterated, because it means more people who do not understand my passion and reminds me of the ignorance of others.. How can I explain it?? It's because I WAS WHERE YOU WERE.. that's the best way I can explain it!! dammit!! you have to understand.. it's not PERSONAL, it's not about pride! It's hard to explain but I have been following a path of music.. I live for sound!! I listen to everything and everything is an orchestra!! Just wait until I get my first sampler!! Right now I'm working on just a Kurzweil, I have dedicated my LIFE TO SOUND!!! TRUST ME WHEN I'M TELLING YOU I KNOW WHAT'S GOOD!!! GODDAMN THAT SOUNDS SO ARROGANT BUT IT'S TRUE!!! REALLY SHIT MAN I am really not AGAINST you on this, you don't know how much I would LOVE you to join me in the trippy land of music I have discovered, HOW IN DEPTH, HOW IMPORTANT, HOW MEANINGFUL MUSIC IS!!!! That's your problem man, you don't want to keep following the path, and the reason you don't is because it doesn't allure you. I wish you could understand, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I WOULD LOVE FOR EVERYONE AROUND ME TO BE AN EXTREME AUDIOPHILE LIKE ME, LISTENING TO EVERYTHING AROUND YOU!!! EXPERIENCING LIFE THROUGH MUSIC!!!!!!! EPXRESSING YOUR EVERY THOUGHT, EVERY EMOTION THROUGH SOUND, THROUGH YOUR INSTRUMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S MORE THAN ANY MAN COULD EVER ASK FOR, THE GIFT OF MUSIC, It brings tears to my eyes, I want you to understand me so bad.. it's not about pride, true taste is not a boast of pride, it is a love of things true -=Aaron

the devastating side effects of long-term squarepusher consumption on the human mind. spymania, warp and rephlex have done a good job at hiding them from the public. now they are coming at us fast. of course, Crtrdge003@aol.com has been listening to squarepusher when the rest of us all were into prodigy, but in a year from now every post on idm is gonna look like this. we better get that class action lawsuit started before our brains are rotted one note and we aren't capable of doing so anymore. scared, tom obviously, Crtrdge003@aol.com

I just had to comment on some of the "wisdom" of Mr. Aaron Crtrdge003 because it made me laugh so hard. Crtrdge003@aol.com wrote (among other things):

And the kicker:

For the record, you know nothing about music.
Oh, you poor thing. *sniff* I can only imagine how it must feel to be the only person worthy of an opinion in this sea of musical ignorance. Dude, if you're going to *really* experience the love of the music you hold so dear, you are going to have to accept that other people might not like it and are willing to say so. As someone who was on this list when it started, and knowing the kind of people who are here, I can guarantee you that their love and passion for the music described on this list is easily on par with yours, if not greater. If their opinion disagrees with yours, well, that's what the "marketplace of ideas" is all about. If you really believe that *you* know what's good and that no one else on this list does, then you need to read the messages on this list more closely. One of the most important rules of communication is to "know your audience." I cannot speak to the Squarepusher issue directly myself, as I own neither _Rotted_ nor "Mindphone" yet. But I can tell you, as someone who loves the music as much as anyone here, with 100% certainty, that your arrogance with regards to other people's opinions is laughable, small-minded, and ultimately tiresome. -- Adam J Weitzman NewsEdge Corporation sleepy people | network down http://www.newsedge.com http://www.newspage.com

The funniest thing about all this is that it came about because I didn't enjoy a recent performance of Tom's new band and not because I was dissing the records of Squarepusher.. Crtrdge003@aol.com can honestly not comment on whether or not he agrees with me or not since he did not experience the event. HE WASN'T THERE! (oops). Aaron is complaining that 99-point-whatever percent of the people in the world aren't open-minded when he's not even considering the possibility that it really *was* a bad peformance. Now that's a limited mind! Anyhow, it's kept me amused for a couple of days. I just want know where you've been all this time? Nick
