Go get "Emit Ecaps" right away if you haven't already! This is a truly amazing album IMO. His precisely crafted tunes with a touch of jazz influence gets me every time I hear them. This album is a lot more uptempo than his previous "Sea Biscuit" album and since you like AFX I'd imagine you'd like "Emit Ecaps" more. Also be sure to get "Alien Community" -- chilled out space funk, uhh... or something. | E r i c | [mail] franse@engr.arizona.edu | | F r a n s | [web] http://intermix.engr.arizona.edu/~franse | "Make the events occur that you want to occur" - The Black Dog

It's not out yet. It's been scheduled and rescheduled many times over the last year or more, and the current planned date is June 1st I believe on Astralwerks. Greg

I was just looking at the Hyperreal website and it is indeed June 1st on Astralwerks. There was a review for the album in the new issue of XLR8R. I preordered my copy from CD Now and will be getting it for 11 bucks. Can't wait. Anyone heard either of JS's collaborations with Namlook, the Alien Community. I'd be interested in hearing some thoughts about them. Hopefully x-radio has some samples up. Oh, I should recommend listening to samples of Richie Hawtin/Namlook on From Within 3. Great stuff.

Alien Community 1 and 2 remain some of my favorite FAX discs. Wierd, bleepy, space electro that starts off slow and builds for like 63 minutes. actually quite mixable with i-F, ectomorph, etc. once it gets going. well worth seeking out, used to be available as an instinct double pack with AC1 and AC2. also look for wescheslspannung 1 (SP?) on FAX for more JonahSharpe. the style of all these is very different from the emit endcaps, DFZ, alien community style. np: bochum welt: corduroy trousers peeeeeeeeeeece, -- Jeff Davis pHlow@earthlink.net fn:216.533.6303 fx:216.266.2310 text:2165336303@mobile.att.net pHlow.linx: home.earthlink.net/~phlow/ Bochum Welt: www.bochumwelt.com Rotator Locator: hyperreal.org/music/rotator/
