After a recent discussion on IDM of the possibility for multigenre mixing I
decided to try my hand at it.
What I tried to do was to combine tracks in all the styles I enjoy, as
best I could. Now when you want to mix from a 100 bpm hip hop track
into a 160bpm jungle track there isn't much room to be smoove, so I
do a fair number of jump cuts, but what the hell -- the tracks are
good enough to withstand it.
I tried to combine tracks from years back that still work for me with
some of my own stuff, and showcase some tracks that I think have been
slept on. I haven't done a track listing -- I leave it up to the
trainspotters to figure it out ;-)
DISCLAIMER: I am not a great DJ, I was working with an old Denon Dual
CD player, and my mixer's crossfader is dodgy. And I did digital editing
to fix a couple of bad mixes -- 3 to be exact.
