I just got hold of this - a '99 release on RGB Records USA "music concept & realization Paul Haslinger" and it proclaims itself *rare groove / urban lounge / cine-fi / fringe-pop* and it's pretty phuckin' swinging! Sort of down-tempo, deep house chill - verrrry smooth. It's also got Japanese writing on it and was partially recorded in Vienna. Hotchpotch? u betcha! Any further info on this? I *

Agreed. It's a pretty solid record. My only complaint is that it switches gears from track to track a bit too much.
quoted 1 line Any further info on this?> Any further info on this?
Paul Haslinger was a member of Tangerine Dream for a while (although I don't hold it against him...) before going solo. Did a couple of albums more in the world/ethno-ambient/techno vein. Score seems to be inspired by the music work he's been doing for film and TV. Check the credits and you'll see he was helped by Brian Williams, aka Lustmord, who also does the film/TV music thing - both of them usually assisting Graeme Revell. Website at www.haslinger.com. Review I wrote at http://www.stainedproductions.com/feedback/reviews/h/haslinger.htm Greg

HA HA !!! I laughed uproariously at this. Funnily enough the person I borrowed this from was also playing me a Klaus Schulze album when I went to visit last night and I thought Klaus Schulze was ex Tangerine Dream ... but on closer inspection of Phaedra (yes, oh dear, the evidence!) he wasn't on that. Schulze, I mean. So now I stupidly ask : who was Klaus Schulze with?? I wasn't aware of the Haslinger connection to TD at all. Thanks for filling in the missing gaps there - my server's suddenly gone mad and won't allow me to browse, but I'll check out that site. Haslinger has a nice list of people he mentions in his "respects" including Miles Davis, Adrian Sherwood, James Lavelle, Coldcut et al. It *is* very filmic... presumably that's why he's called it 'score'? Visions of Moby spring to mind at this point :-) I *

Schulze was a member of TD in during their early (formative?) years, but left the group to pursue a solo career. Aaron onnow: the sound of my brain being buggered by a vivacious doberman

not much more to tell...greg told you he was with td, and now hes doing this elektro-world-fusion-how much can i fit on a tune? type stuff, which, imo, is pretty forgetable considering how talented he really is...check out his work with lightwave or as coma virus... tom w np: talvinremixsingh ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
