More ambient...and boring. I've got friends who say they like it, but personally think he's done much better stuff (such as _Z'ulm_). Might be nice to keep around as a collectors thing, but the music really isn't all that impressive. Better off saving your dough. However, I did get the new Nurse With Wound today. Stapleton's lighter-side to be sure! :) NP: Super_Collider 7" JJTar. --- Peace Hugs and Unity Jason J. Tar W. W. J. D? (What would Jason Do?) http://pilot.msu.edu/user/tarjason ICQ@13792120

The md is not ambient. Best characterized by driving beats that are distorted and crunchy at times. Also there are some weird pauses which may or may not be intentional. If you want driving forceful beats you will like the md. I like repetition so it works for me. -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records On Mon, 3 May 1999, Jason J. Tar wrote:

Ok, re-listening now, and I guess I got "ambient" from the repetitiveness of it. I dunno, after hearing _Fatah Guerilla_ 3xCD, nothing else M-Gauze has done has impressed me. That triple CD set is quite the highlight of his career (in my opinion). Another thing I have against the MD is the cheapness of it, considering the quality of other MG releases and the way it was marketed. It is pretty much a blank MD, they didn't even bother to title it. They did do color, numbered covers though. Mine is fine, but a friend's copy has 8 minutes of blank space added oddly at the end. Just didn't seem to take the time in production that is shown on other limited MG releases, and on the Gescom MD. Plus I was hoping they would do something special with the MD format. Such as make a bunch of tracks featuring the typical Jone's beats and sounds. Then you could simply hit "shuffle" and never need by another MG release again! ;) --- Peace Hugs and Unity Jason J. the 3 cd set is pretty incredible. Three other releases come to mind which are as good IMHO, Gun Armaric part 2, Mort Von Arches and azzazin.

agreed. There are even production flaws on it.

yeah there was no real point to put it on md. but it is still kinda cool considering how many things are not put out on md. -dnaiel
