Lance and clietz *perfectly* answered this query germane to modern
styles and artists. I'd add a few oldies just for good measure.
If only for the similarities to Tiki's vocal style, I'd say most Bim
Sherman on the
On- U Sound label is mellow and smooth like Tiki. When I got the R+S CD, I
just
could'nt help but think of Bim. Mind you, the BC fuzz sound is not there
but Bim
and Tiki *do* have a vibe in common. Also! check out the On U Sound Dub
Plate 10"
series now reissued on CD. For the "a side vocal" and "b side dub" stylee,
this stuff is *classic*.
And since the vinyl is next to *impossible* to get, these 2 ( are there
more ? ) CDs are most
gratifying.
