this may be of interest to anyone who's hand-burning cd-rs for a label or for their own use or whatnot--i know there's a lot of you on this list, hence this semi-off-topic post. i've been inquiring that place called "diskmarket" (http://www.diskmarket.com) for blank digipaks. digipaks are those cardboard sleeves with a plastic cd holder glued in. i think they're pretty slick & look a hell lot better than regular jewel cases. anyway, their price is $1.19 each (which for all i know isn't bad) but the minimum buy is 1000. i don't need 1000, nor do i have the money to buy that many (in fact i need approximately 200, 300 at most, at least for now), so i'm checking with this list to see if some of you would be interested in purchasing some with me so we could split the costs of 1000 (or more if there's a demand for it). why buy digipaks if they're blank? if you print your cover on sticker paper, you only need one printing (rather than 2 or more if you make a jewel case cover, plus making sure everything looks good on both sides, & all the hassle that comes with it). or even better, you can make "white label cdrs" with them! i just think they look spiffy, really, & if you run a label, they usually sell better than ordinary jewel cases. obviously if anybody can tell me of some other place that sells them cheaper & in smaller bulks, please raise your hand. :) if interested, please reply privately so as to not clog the list with digipak threads. :) thanks, -- david turgeon at http://www.notype.com

I haven't explored that much either, but the computer-chain CompUSA sells a ten pack of standard jewel cases for $3.00... .John.

you can buy 200 jewel cases at 19 cents a piece (unassembled) from: www.enpack.com note they only list the above in quantitys of 400 but they will break it down to 200 if you ask them to (have to call them) idm content: child's view - funfair on bubble core is a lot of fun. Child's view is Nobukazu Takemura. think odd ovalesque compositions while other tracks remind me of output from the rdj album by aphex. However, Child's view's slant on "drill n bass" is somehow mature and not as adolescent sounding (hard to explain). Comes with a dyaln group remix (they cover a child's view song). Basically a fun experimental/drill and bassish album. -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records On Thu, 22 Apr 1999, John Bush wrote:

i guess i should reply to this on the list right away-- i'm looking for digipaks specifically, not jewel cases. thanks for the plugs though, daniel & john, it's likely i end up buying regular jewel cases, as they are a hell lot cheaper... but they look so boring. :) -- david turgeon at http://www.notype.com
