How can you say the soundtrack was nowhere near as good as the movie?? Can you think of a better soundtrack for such a low priced film?? The director only spent 60 grand in production, and then 160 grand in promotion. The artists on the soundtrack practically donated there music for his film. I don't think you can get a much better artist line-up for a film than aphex, autechre, FSOL, Massive Attack, Spacetime Continuum, Roni Size and I won't go on. Name me a bettter soundtrack that would fit the music discussed on this list and I will shut up. ..chesterblaze signing off.. €-€-€-€-€-€-€-€-€-€-€-€ ...stay linked... David Holmes's soundtrack to Out of Sight. Much more engaging than the Pi soundtrack IMHO. I felt Pi as well as the Soundtrack were pretty mediocre, even though it was low budget. Even with a low budget they could have picked better tracks. Most of us have all the stuff on that soundtrack. To me it sounded blasse. I felt like the guy who made the movie wanted to include IDM-ish tracks to be cool, not to reinforce the film; to me this is evident in track seletion. And they kept re-playing that one song with the amen break and the really generic synth lines...it really got on my nerves. I was pretty bored throughout Pi. But I know I'm a minority on that one. IMHO there have been much more well done low-budget films. Plus I think D. Holmes is dope as hell. all MHO... anyhoo Nate On Wed, 14 Apr 1999, Chester Blaze wrote:

"Kalpol Introl" was used more effectively than i imagined Ae could ever be. If nothing else in the movie got me, the use of that did. And although it wasn't in the movie (and don't have the CD), the Ed Rush/Optical remix of Roni's "Watching Windows" is 'sposed to be killer. Almost bought it just for that. _________________________________ Adam Roesch / roesch@augsburg.edu Augsburg College / Minneapolis / MN / USA http://dogbert.augsburg.edu/~roesch/ The world's most complete Pork Recordings/Fila Brazillia site: http://dogbert.augsburg.edu/~roesch/pork/ "The only disease we need in our blood is love" TRICKY

Really? I found its continual presence in the movie to be quite annoying. It seemed decent as background music (which is, unfortunately, the general purpose of a soundtrack), but in Out of Sight every damn scene had music playing in it.

Considering some of the songs didn't even make it into the movie it wasn't all that bad. And you gotta admit all of us smiled when segments of Kalpol Introl kept getting replayed ... fit right into the flow! But onto bigger, more important things. I am looking for copies of Ultramarine's _Hymn_ singles. I believe there were 2 cd singles released, but am too lazy to buy them proper, so am looking to pick them up in trade. If anyone has copies they want to get rid of, drop me a line and I will work out a deal/trade/sale.
