I've had similar eperiences with some modern instrumental "Electronica"
(errgh. I hate that word like "Trip-hop" and "IDM," but what else am i
going to use?): being moved by pure sounds to a near-crying state. (I'm a
bit old-fashioned, and it's much more likely to happen with vocal music),
but i have four tracks that have done it to me just with sound:
Seefeel "Utreat (complete)"
Fila Brazillia "A Zed and two L's"
Aphex Twin: whichever SAWII track he played live in Mpls.
Irresistible Force "Nepalese Bliss (DJ Food Mix)"
With the first three, it was just a wash of pure loneliness. I am always in
awe of producers who can do this to me, especially seefeel, who worked it
with a simple repitition.
np: Fila Brazillia "Old Codes/New Chaos"
