Bit of a subjective question, but can someone with a Gescom 2 ("Snackwitch"/"Mag") tell me if it's supposed to sound really muffled, with way too much bass and almost no high end at all, or do I just have a dodgy copy? It really sounds to my ears like I'm listening to it with a pillow over the speaker, which is distressing since I love those two tracks to death; at the same time, it seems possible that they were recorded that way intentionally...

nope, I'd say you got a rank copy. my friends got a copy of it, and it sounds clear as a bell, no muffling whatsoever. crisp and bright. that sucks, because snackwitch is a top notch tune! and it sounds brilliant 33rpm or 45 rpm. em.
