I also found it a bit strange that this has gotten no mention... on a superficial level I'd say it sounds a bit like the whole 'schematic/mas' thing going around these days but somehow it seems to interject a good deal of personality and more importantly a fair amount of melody... (read also: not as slick/ a bit more 'human') In a nutshell there are some nice chord progressions and a few harmonies that sneak in and out on occasion.... As someone who has been disappointed for the last few months w/ my purchases in this neighborhood of sound, I'd say this is well worth tracking down. apparently, this is a first effort by some guy from austria and i believe its out on worm interface. only negative is the brown paper bag sleeve (not unlike those school lunch bags) which hasn’t held together so well for me... _____ Subject: (idm) Gimmick - Load Error A friend bought this vinyl-only 12" at Sister Ray in London; it comes in a brown-paper-bag-like sleeve. He reckons it's pretty good: "Like Aphex Twin but more exciting." I've not seen any discussion of this on idm -- anyone know who this is?

Ay, my sentiments completely. Thanks Doron for putting all that into words. This record's been glued to the deck since it came home last week. We really need to figure out who this guy is! -Våt np: Tusken Raiders - Bantha Track Vol.2 (Planet µ) ____________________ Reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge PO BOX 382864. I'll add to the pile on of kudos for the new gimmick record. It's produced by someone named Martin Haidinger who's name isnt familiar to me. This ep features 6 tracks so it's more of a mini-lp for the price of an ep. btw: this ep is a Worm Interface/Toytronic label split release. what else has the toytronic label done? i dont recall personally hearing anything from them before... any info? -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
