Okay, this subject more than likely came up awhile back, but sometimes time changes opinions of things. Can anyone offer their opinion as to which release they like more? --Bill

0161 by far... why? alside from having lots of skam 12"s, the tracks just are better imo. the angry voice

i think i have to agree here.. the 0161 comp has so many neat elements to it.. lots of dark stuff, some funny stuff, some noisey stuf... hell, it even has its moment of punk. the skamper, however, is VERY "idm" :) so, if your tastes lean towards the more "traditional" sound of idm, get the skampler. if you like the more abstract bits, the 0161. oh, i love them both.. but i think the 0161 comp is more for me.. besides, really.. for me, its all about the gescom track :) (which seems to be the most "idm" sounding thing on either comp? -- go figure :) chris. i am not daniel. i am not peach. i am not sterile. music, four lunchpails: wednesdays 7-8pm kuci 88.9fm www.kuci.org "chicks dig laptops"

try going to:::: http://www.sonic.net/~brap/vvm/index.shtml follow the cowhead link to the discography (which desperately needs updating, missing the machines and the 'good way to freak the hell out of the poor cats' pig) should be a tracklisting there, plus a link to the moo pages the angry voice

However, most of the tracks on the Skampler can be found on existing 12-inches, whereas 0161 is full of unreleased stuff. Depends what you're after -- cool tunes or rarities. changes opinions of things. Can anyone offer their opinion as to which release they like more? I like 0161, has some really top tracks. Skampler has some good unreleased tracks from Jega and Gescom, which to me are unmissable. I'd pick 0161 personally though, has a little of the V/Vm flavor so be warned! Rusty
