personally, i think chain reaction is a very mediocre label that has one or two good acts. the compilation is quite horrible. biokinetics is alright, and if you like porter ricks, i would go for that as opposed to the comp, which is fairly terrible. Personally, i prefer thomas koners solo stuff to porter ricks...it's far superior...get "teimo/permafrost"... the majority of the chain reaction stuff tends to be very sub-par minimal house music...and if your listening to the sea and cake, i don't think you want that stuff... hope this helps, -joshua...

I couldnt disagree more with you Joshua. Chain Reaction is a groundbreaking dance music label. Chain Reaction, and it's earlier incarnation Basic Channel, are so influentional and original that they have founded their own genre of techno. Releases by Porter Ricks, Scion, Monolake, Various Artists, Vainqueur, and Substance are mainstays in the recordboxes of most of today's better djs. I can see since you favor the Thomas Koner solo stuff you probably like more ambient or experimental stuff. But to dismiss the label as a sub-par minimal house because the label doesnt release records in the style you like is just plain ignorant. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

lance, to disregard what i'm saying as my opinion is whats in your words ignorant. if i had no knowledge of the label, it would perhaps be so. however, it's my opinion, as i stated in my post. be it ground breaking or not, i still feel it's a mediocre label and i could easily back my opinion up, and perhaps i should have gone into more detail in my original post. i'm standing by what i said earlier and feel no need to defend it. i have no problem with your interestest and like of the label, but i'm offended at being called "ignorant" for thinking them mediocre. what's ground breaking to one, isn't for another. i'm not angry, and i hope this doesn't come across as hostile, but i feel i should stand up for myself. -joshua...

hello joshua, i'm not angered by your post in any way. I just couldnt fathom how one could reduce such an influential label to the description of bad minimal house - and i'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks that. chain reaction and basic channel are not just groundbreaking to me either - that status is a widely held opinion, not just mine. so my reply to you was not defending my personal view, i was defending a commonly held view. again, no hard feelings, just differences in opinion. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
