I feel the need to express my opinion on Jega what with all the bashing that's going on. Something I hate seeing is people saying some music is rubbish when the don't understand it or it's not on their wavelength. Anyway I rekon Jega's got some great talent but it's quite idiosyncratic as opposed to Tom Jenkinson who seems to be a bit more down to earth. I love the jega sound because of the u-Ziq style input from Mike P. Mike had a very unique style to start with (which sadly seems to be dying) but to some extent it lives on with jega. There are some moments in Spectrum where melodies bubble up that bring a tear to my eyes, but I have to say that at times the sound can be a bit HARSH!! Aside from jega,,, can anyone tell me what the intended speeds of the following are please? Schematic 005 Richard Coleman Devine Schematic 007 Ischemic Strokes Schematic 008 Takesi - Swollen Glances (Glands?) Chocolate Industries - Push Button Objects Unauthorized ep I'm really into the sound of these labels but I can't decide what speed the records should be played at. Should PBOs sound slow and hip hoppy or fast and electroey? I like them at both speeds but I can't help but wonder what the artists' original intention was. Can't wait for the PBOs on Skam! Cheers. np: Freeform - Siamese Telebox

this is a very common trap that many people fall into. it's not necessarily fatal. eric onnow: jim o'rourke : eureka (drag city)

How do you know they don't understand it or on their wavelength? Perhaps it falls way short of expectation.

I think Jega has lots of talent, but he hasn't done anything in a long while that really excites me.

It doesn't do a whole hell of alot for me. I've easily bought 30 or more records this year that excite me a hell of alot more. Someone mentioned the Jega remix of Michael Fakesh, I love that. His remix for Mark Broom was pretty good also. Spectrum falls kind of flat for me. That's cool that it doesn't for you. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
