Surgeon "Communications" (Downwards LP1 - 2x12")
this Anthony Child production was released in '96. no ambient, just a few decent percussive and some bleepy tracks. this is far from his best work. haven't listened to this in a year or so, and i'm not even gonna put it on now because it's just doesn't do it for me. don't like it at all. stay away from this one, unless you're a hardcore Surgeonoist, and my guess is that those are rare on a list like this one.

on the two first i totally agree with you, but i don't think i've heard Magneze so i couldn't comment on that one. and btw these aren't ambient, just wacky tracky 909 w/ distortion. don't think Muggerscum Out has been repressed, so that one could be a bitch to find, but i'm not really sure.

listened to those two when they first came out. didn't like them. beware.

talking of what Cari Lekebusch should do i think he should go back to the way Hybrid used to sound a few years ago and talking about Hybrid i have some information which could be interesting for the swedes on the list...
Hybrid is selling out a some of their older stuff at their website (
http://www.algonet.se/~hybridpd). i remember seeing stuff like Sound Architectures (HYBCD 001, vinyl version sold out a long time ago - contains remixes of HYB 01-10), Sir Augustus Granith Hall "The Kattajaq Story" (APCD 002, very good odd tribal stuff from Cari Lekebusch), Tupilaq "Vaisen EP" (AP1201, very good ambient from Krister Linder), Cari Lekebusch "Yellow Blood" (AP1202, ambient electro or whatever, i can't remember what this one was like) + new mixtapes from Lekebusch, some other old Hybrid releases and slipmats.
i think the Hybrid homepage said that these items could only be ordered in Sweden only. but check the web just in case, my mind could be buggin'.
luv,
bauri
