I've been hearing a lot of [positive] reviews & opinions about Pan Sonic. I'm getting the impression that their sound is similar to the bubbly texture's of Pole? I briefly heard one of their releases encased in a round tin cd-case.. Someone PLEASE inform me. This list introduced me to Pole, and i'm thinking that my ears need some Pan Sonic. Thanks again folks... Pietro. _______________________________ Pietro Da Sacco, mbm@netcore.ca The Circular Cosmic Spot http://www.sdriver.com/spot

My experience with Pole is limited but I think Pan Sonic are on a different level altogether. Kulma, one of my favorite discs of recent years, is a maelstrom of clicking, contorted rhythms and high-frequency noise and distortion. Noise is a very important element of their sound, so much so that it always reminds me of old school "industrial" (Throbbing Gristle, Whitehouse). Please seek out the live MP3 of the Cleveland show. Sonic terrorism, pure and simple. -----Original Message----- From: `Pietro <mbm@netcore.ca> To: idm@hyperreal.org <idm@hyperreal.org> Date: Friday, February 26, 1999 8:54 PM Subject: (idm) pan[a]sonic
