Anyone have opinions on the CiM "Warm Data" 12" on Focus? Just curious if
it's anything like/as good as their "Service Pack" 12" on Delsin? Just
scored the latter last weekend and it's nice, first straight idm record I've
bought in a while. If you can reply to this addy that'd be grand, might not
read it if it's swimming among all the other digest fodder.
Aside from all that - So Cal residents - keep an eye out for RD and TL Smith
- just saw'em do a 2x4 set last weekend at a one-off out here and it blew my
mind, lots of great electro and fractured beats stuff, have seen them a few
times now. They're playing out more and more, s'posed to have a page up at
www.elmconceptions.com soon, and also promoting Phoenecia out here in LA
4/22. Some of the better music I've run into after six months of LA, these
kids are tight.
And more electro - the new Anthony Rother full-length
"Simultationszeitalter" on PSI49NET is amazing - set to be released 5/1,
it's weird slo-mo electro that's as good as anything he's ever done. I was
really digging the new Sven Vath (co-produced by Rother) until I heard
Rother's own LP, and it's even better. Cold and techy and hard and
beautiful machinemusic.
