I think Richard's music keeps getting better & better. The HAB EPs are 2 of my favourite records ever. "Come To Daddy" is great. The "Girl/Boy" EP put through joyous fits that nearly warranted a trip to the hospital when I first heard it. I'm very excited about hearing the new Aphex Twin tunes. Maybe all you folks who were once so in love with Richard & are now so profoundly dissappointed should stop deciding in your heads what you want to hear him do next (which probably many of you are) & let him do what he wants with music? Having a lyrics in an "electronic music" song or using voices of young people doesn't automatically mean that he's trying to fuck with his audience, as so many of you imply. How did you all you get so defensive? Marc Poirier

I'm ready to undersign the said below. This thread is too critical to what seems to me a personal attitude. His music is his own way (to live, to express, to inform or just fool around). He's done lots of serious stuff but if he makes fun no snobbish approach should be made. I love what he made before, especially classics collection, but come to daddy is loved by me as well and I cannot understand why you dissect him in such a way. Those're not his bad or good sides - they all are just his music. And music loved by many. Do not deny him if you could not grow (or get childish) along with his music cause that attitude smells like "you're not my hero anymore I've got another one cause you betrayed me...". I think it's stupid. Alien Marc 3 Poirier wrote:

oh god, please stop this thread. every few weeks (days?) something like this happens. but when it starts to read like religious fanaticism, it's gone a little off the deep end and it's time to stop. these things are always divided down the same lines: the people who don't care the music listeners the music lovers the music worshippers and the musician worshippers and it's always the same pattern. it starts small in some small comment near the end of a long reply, and snowballs until people on all sides feel insulted and hurt. it's all kind of funny, but it's always the same (both the argument and the subject) and getting kind of tedious. or at least if you don't stop, make it more funny and more insulting. :) -eric --- eric sherman szale@doubtful.com doubtful productions www.doubtful.com
