quoted 1 line I should have known from the>I should have known from the
start that since people are all different there would be many different opinions on whose music was "intelligent" and whose was not. That part is true...the other parts....ahhhh dont worry about it.....Shit, there is not ONE person on this list who has not made a mistake on this damn thing! Forget about it! In terms of "intelligent", yeah its a slippery term and most on the list dont want to discuss such a thing. Besides, if you consider it intelligent then, in your mind it is...... Hk! -----Original Message----- From: MrtOLVER@aol.com [mailto:MrtOLVER@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, April 12, 2000 3:42 AM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: [idm] what is idm? appologies and final posting I'd like to start by apologizing to the list members that I was directly rude to. I would also like to say sorry to those I may have upset inadvertently. My original question, in my opinion was a legitimate one. i had no idea that hyppereal were the first to use the words "intelligent dance music". I am fairly new to this list but have listened to "experimental" music ever since some of the first Aphex, black dog, etc... releases. After a while I started hearing people describe the music I liked as idm. I honestly just wanted to find out what we were referring to as idm these days. The next thing I know I'm arguing with people about anything and everything, Saying things I didn't even think or feel just to argue with those who apposed. Most of what I fought about had nothing to do with my original question and with every new arguement even further from getting an answer I got. I let myself get upset, said a few mean things, upset some people, looked stupid in the process, and still never got an answer. There never was "an" answer to get. To ask a large group of people the question I did is ridiculous as well as pointless. What's simple to one may be seen as genius to another. I should have known from the start that since people are all different there would be many different opinions on whose music was "intelligent" and whose was not. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
