Sorry about my apologies message going to everyone! i'm a little shaky today. by way of atonement: picked up two things recently, the coil winter/north/what have you disc. nice, very good stuff, not very idm but i know a lot of list members are into coil and it's very subtle. that, and the asphodelic sampler from asphodel records. quality stuff all the way through, and probably will convince me to pick up that mixmaster mike album i passed on a while back. he seems to be the leading turntablist who's not just interested in flexing his skills, but in putting together tracks that are fun and challenging at once. this comp also has the nice surprise of two diggable dj spooky tracks (probably because they're removed from all the MFA application b.s. he normally slathers them with), including the excellent "synaptic dissonance." sure, aphex did the modem sound thing first, but it actually works here, standing in as an audio representation of the 'handshake' of instrumental hip hop and jungle inside the track. that, and WE rule my world. grab this one, it's good and cheap. my work here is done. rob
