At risk of sounding like a complete asshole, do you think you're somehow radically different, cool and 3l3t3 by typing in the manner that you do? What's the point? I sincerely hope that you're not that dysfunctional where typing/reading is concerned - or worse - that you're so knocked up for attention that you feel compelled to use a mode of "phreak" styled garbled text to gather attention. I'm not trying to knock originality or berate your individuality, but really it's quite useless. Do you sit around all day thinking of "cool", ulterior ways of typing things? ̆'Š å£mðšt äs štùÞîÐ ªñd ïdíõt¡ç æs th¤së ÅÓ£ "hæ¢kœ®'š" VVh° †hÏñk thÀt Šòméhøvv t¥þìñg lìkè †h͊ må|<Æs †hêm çöõL (decoder ring in effect: it's almost as stupid and idiotic as those AOL "hackers" who think that somehow typing like this makes them cool). |\/|®. Tåñgæñ† Sorry if I come off as an asshole, but enlighten me as to why you type in such a way - not that you owe me a reason. ObIDM: did the Pole domestic cd ever come out on Matador? Any bonus tracks or differences? Anyone have a web site or some info on Redeye?

The release of the Pole 2 illustrates the difference between release dates on majors and bigger independents and smaller independents. The Pole 2 was supposed to come out on Matador and Kiff SM on February 23, but it was released instead in early February (without any notification of "we've changed the date to ..."). This happens quite often (pushing dates ahead) in the bigger independent world; the sly and robbie was also supposed to come out on feb 23; instead was released on jan 12! i've seen it often enough to disbelieve release dates when they're written down by the label (big or small independent) on an advance promo. take a smaller independent, though, and their release dates get pushed back and back (usually because they don't have the same amount of $ to play with). the john tejada, for example, was pressed and ready to be released in october, then november, then november, etc. it came out just a week ago commercially (ie. mid february). A 13 is a smaller independent, unlike the Matadors and the Palm Pictures. strange thing is, major labels are very strict about their release dates and don't move them unless they make a big deal about it. try to go to a store on the day of release for a major label "product" and you'll be told "ah, we can't sell it till twelve noon or we get in trouble" cos they're not allowed violating the streetdate. yes, they get the records before streetdate, but they're not allowed to sell em. independents have more fluid release dates. you'll often see commercial copies in the stores before streetdate (sorry for all this Billboardish talk :)) so there's 3 different levels on release dates between the majors, the large independents, and the smaller independents. pole 2 is same on both matador and kiff sm, to answer the question less longwindedly. andrew :) -- Andrew Duke Cognition Audioworks 1096 Queen St #123 Halifax NS Canada B3H 2R9 TEL 902-422-7132 FAX 902-422-1262 http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition (Cognition Audioworks/In The Mix: listen : read) --online now: world premieres:Model 500/Dubtribe/Cristian Vogel/Monolake/LOGM In The Mix show 578:Juan Atkins/Danny Zelonky (Low Res)/Mark Wee
