Actually, their (technical) restriction is 4 channels. Jeremy.

My comment on this: went to an Aphex live performance in Leeds about a couple of years ago, and next to the mixing desk there was a DAT machine with a timer ticking up. 3 explanations: 1)This was a bomb ticking to doom 2)It was recording the gig 3)It was playing back the gig Make ya choice. Of course, it was a great gig, and highly irrelevant whether it was pre-recorded or not. I prefer to think it was just Aphex playing back pre-recorded tracks from Pro-Tools. Jeremy.

the kao-tic harmony 12" on transmat (i think it's still in print) has the unedited version of icon on the flip. this is a longer, more emotional track with lots of pitch bending and live-sounding playing that is far, far, far superior to the truncated version on the innovator comp. anyone into ambient-anything should pick up this record: the way that icon and kao-tic harmony complement each other is really astounding. derrick deserves five mics in the source magazine for this record alone!
