Its been some time since the flow of good music has slowed to a trickle, I'm looking foward to some schematic and MAS new stuff but haven't heard over anything new coming out. on that note, skam also seems to be taking their time as well. btw on the question of Autechre clones, this happens with everything, one group makes a sound, others get interested in exploring that sound as well but get labelled as clones. for instance: Joy Division, after the death of Ian Curtis every band with the "JD" sound were called clones or cheap copies and most of them went unseen. 20 years later I'm digging in used record bins trying to find these clones because they are completely valid. Bands like Crispy Ambulance, Section 25 and ACR had their own sound, however similar it was to Joy Division it was still an interesting take on the whole thing, In many respects I find ACR's Too Each... a far better record than Unknown Pleasures. And at this point LP5 seems weaker than some of the stuff coming from the clones, not everything lasts so you should grab it while you can, in 20 years that Push Button Objects 12" may never be found again

There are four new Musik Aus Strom eps mastered and in production as we speak by Chris DeLuca, While, Swap, and Aemic. Also there are two new Schematic eps that will be out soon by Takeshi and the Istmik Strokes remix comp vol 1. So the trickle will turn into a torrent very soon. One of the reason those Factory bands were considered clones is that they either had the same producer, Martin Hannett, or used the same gear (Voyetra synths, pedals) because they used the same studio(s), etc. Section 25 later used the same beatboxes and Voyetra as New Order, I believe. "From the Hip" has cool electro instrumental passages w/808 than go beyond New Order...

I agree, "Too Each..." is far more musically interesting. Strangely, I've noticed a couple of "40 Breaks (Tracks of beat loops)" that have 5-6 ACR samples from just that LP alone. They are buried between Fela and various international-funk-percussion loops, which I'd guess ACR would consider a sort of compliment.....

On vinyl, yeah, though I'm thinking that the tracks made in # 500 pressings are more likely to survive (CDR and mp3 and internet) since they stand a greater chance of getting recorded on another media than old ACR records. I doubt too many IDM'ers under 25 give a rip about FActory stuff. BTW, I have a Section 25 tape bootleg with them doing "The Model" I'll tradefor the ACR "Wild Party" 12".. anyone.... hello?... oh well solenoid

One of the tracks from that album was featured a few times on Gescom's Disengage radio show. Got mine for 70p from Wythenshawe Library, ten years ago.
