Can someone confirm whether or not David Kristian is really going to be playing the Victo festival this year? I'd like to finally check him out live. Also, are there going to be any other IDM-related Victo acts? I've never been to the Victo Fest before and I learned today that Victoriaville is about a 10 hour drive from NYC, and the whole festival should cost me about 500 bucks. Ouch! Well, if any other NYC-folk on the list are planning to trek out there as well, let me know if you'd be interested in a car pool. eric.

Hey All I'll check with Dave. It's quite possible as he's usually up for playing these kind of more experimantal events. As for Victo. It's Canada's best secret really. Every year I can drive a mere 1 hour to a little town in Eastern Quebec and watch the locals get really confused as Diamanda Galas, John Zorn, Tortoise, Keiji Heino, and loads of other wicked experimental groups invade the peaceful town of Victoriaville. It's also quite good for the fact that the town is so small that your bound to run into/have a chance to meet pretty much anyone on the bill. It's a good time. Keep in mind our dollar is really shit right now, so Americans can get that whole bonus 1.5 exchange rate...once you get here it's cheap as hell. I don't work for Victo, I just happen to think it's a worthwile thing to support. Jeff

I've got an Iva Bittova cd on some Czech label - hauntingly nice vocal/violin simultaneity... many people probably know of her via the Fred Frith movie a few years back "Step Across the Border".

Wha?!!! Is this actually the same Peggy Lee as did "Is That All there is?" in the 50's? I have been collecting her records (pre-70) for ten years, plus 7"s (Little Boat and other sambas are her best stuff). Is she somehow doing some experimental music or free jazz? Last I saw she was releasing 70's covers (albeit good taste) and such. What is this act?!

Office Products would like to contact Otomo, does anyone have contact info?

This makes sense considering that SYouth recently had Climax Golden Twins touring with them. solenoid

I'm guessing that this is the Vancouver (I think) based experimental cellist Peggy Lee, not the loungey 50s singer you're thinking of. This current Ms. Lee has worked with Download and probably lots of other people. Greg
