The only one I know of is the "Hydrogen Slush" 12"er on Jazz Fudge, one of their more recent releases. And easily one of the best hip-hop cuts of last year. It's Vadim + Anti-Pop Consortium (NYC i think). Supposedly there was an LP involving all/some of these folks that came out on P-Vine in Japan, but I've yet to dig it up. When I do the price will only make me shed tears. But score "Hydrogen Slush" at all costs. ____________________________________ Brock Phillips - bphil@email.unc.edu WXYC 89.3 FM The New Science Experience Tune in every Sunday night 10-12 AM EST http://www.wxyc.org for live RA broadcast Promos, demos, etc. welcome for submission Email for postal address and details... I don't know about all that! Don't get me wrong, it's a good track and everything, but one of the best of the year? if you're looking for downtempo abstract hip-hop w/ an decent bassline and semi-annoying raps, by all means... "your ears are my punching bag" ...ech. Don't know if it came out in '98, but one of my favorite hip-hop tracks of last year has to be "Reflection Eternal feat. Mos Def and Mr. Man - Fortified Live" Speaking of abstract hip-hop, anyone know anything about Toastie Taylor (beyond the Black Whole Styles appearance)? Any opinions on "Peanut Butter Wolf - My Vinyl Weighs a Ton"? Andrew (who needs to make a long-needed trip to Dusty Grooves to pick up some hip-hop) ajl@megsinet.net

Fully agree with you. Vadim picking up a few friends and trying to cop Company Flow's style. Didn't think it was all that. Still looking forward to the full length though in May(?).

He's now a member of New Flesh 4 Old. They have a 12" out on Big Dada, plus should have a full length soon. Also have some stuff on other labels, but not sure what. Know there is a track on Jazz Fudge's _Organised Sound_ compilation. He also makes an appearnce on Part 2's solo on JFudge, and on Ice's _Bad Blood_ album and "Headwreck" ep.

Decent, nothing mind blowing though. Ok for hip hop, but nothing to talk about turntable-wise. JJTar --- Peace Hugs and Unity Jason J. Tar W. W. J. D? (What would Jason Do?) http://pilot.msu.edu/user/tarjason ICQ@13792120
