pardon? panasonic sounds NOTHING like this. (although they are the only group that rivals fennesz.) How does sinewaves and static looped in an organized beat fasion sound like fennesz? I wont say they don't have similar aesthetics (which is why i like both) but i wouldn't say they sound alike.

i'm curious, what do you mean by obvious? if anything, the beach boys is more expected from him as he quotes them as one of his biggest influences...

it does rock. i'll admit. the 7" is strange though, it's very obvious guitar sample based...which is unusual, because he claims not to want it to be so obviously guitar...which it is... -joshua...

hmm. the closest description i can come to for me on the 7" is panasonic gone pop.. :) sorry, works for me. opinions may vary.

when i listen to the paint it black cover, it sounds like it is a cover of paint it black. when i listen to the beach boys song, i hear no indication that it is a cover. thats what i meant. chris.

that's odd. "hotel parallel" was always easy to find. and in case it wasn't, it was reissued as well. forced exposure, other music and many places have it... why is "plays" so appealing...? perhaps because one could say that fennesz is an amazing song writer as opposed to "programmer" or other such titles. the pieces are well thought out, and are beautiful...and i belive that his "interpretations" of those songs are amazing, as opposed to just doing a standard electronic version of those songs... and i'm sure you've heard paint it black by the stones. it's everywhere. there's a commerical for the new kevin bacon flick that uses that song... -joshua...
