Most of this stuff is long-gone out of print, unfortunately. Planet E tunes are back-catalog and nowhere in sight (unless someone else knows of a source). Related things that you might dig in this vein on the label that are still around - Intergalactic Beats CD comp. (absolutely essential, but now I'm crying 'cuz I'll never find the originals on wax), and the Psyche/BFC comp. on CD/vinyl - both Planet E releases. If yout liked the Drexciya tune you can still dig up The Quest CD/vinyl comp. on Submerge(?). And I've sung its praises many times on this list, but no one can beat Electron Industries label in my book for dark electro/techno hybrids, very much like the mood of the Parker disc overall. Most of this label's stuff (all?) is on wax, more recent stuff (check the Vidd 12" by Octagon Man) still in print. And look to the German labels for electro, all kinds of mad stuff popping up on Sabotage, Viewlexx, etc. I don't know specifics on these as I haven't been able to track much of it down myself. This'll get you started. I really really dug this disc too, so if anyone else can contribute similar recommendations beyond this I'd be grateful. My question: posed this one earlier to idm, but never got a peep. The Infonet label - both of the Infonet tracks (Space DJ'z, Sons of the Subway) on this comp are the joint, where's this label from and what else do they do? I'd love to get my hands on these and more, but can't get any info on this one. ____________________________________ Brock Phillips - bphil@email.unc.edu WXYC 89.3 FM The New Science Experience Tune in every Sunday night 10-12 AM EST http://www.wxyc.org for live RA broadcast Promos, demos, etc. welcome for submission Email for postal address and details... speaking of heavy electro, does anyone have any information on the "audio illusions recordings" label? there's a couple records by 'final dream' that i've been starving for for a couple years now.

this is the old bandulu posse. i'd always heard that they had some good stuff on that label (of recent times - i still keep an eye out for "phaze inversion," section 25 fan that i am), but i never found anything remotely decent on infonet until andrea put them on the cd. eric

Infonet was a dance-offshoot label for Creation, the indie label that gave us My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Slowdive, Primal Scream, Swervedriver, The Boo Radleys, Oasis, etc. As far as I know, Infonet called it quits a few years ago. The labels two big acts were Bandulu and Reload. Dunno too much else, but the two Reload releases were absolutely stellar. I have often come upon an Infonet compilation CD featuring various artists, but don't know the track listing. Also, though not on Infonet, I would highly recommend the Slowdive "In Mind Remixes" EP on Creation featuring remixes by Bandulu and Reload. -Mike

I've got a 2xLP from Infonet (title "Usability Now" (c)1994) w/ track listing as follows: Reload: Peschi (Original) Rev One: Synth-less Sons Of The Subway: Locked Out Up-Surge: Loopholes Bandulu: Open Gate Bandulu: Downward Glance (Demonz) New Adult: Common Law Thunderground: You Missed New Adult: Hometown Notes: New Adult and Thunderground are basically Bandulu aliases. From memory, most tracks were dark and hard breakbeat stuff, and "Downward Glance (Demonz)" is probably one of the most awesome tracks Bandulu did. (my record player died about 2yrs ago...) Hope someone finds this interesting. Cheers, Jon
