the 'green space' show in LA last night was really quite good. somewhat of a pretentious and small venue, but it worked out okay overall. all the music was quite impressive. lexaunculpt: i guess our friend alex has stirred up some attention for himself -- which i really do feel he deserves. while there is still room for him to grow and find his place in electronic music, alex never fails to impress me.. and i look forward to watching his progress over the new year. this time around he really went on the dark and moody tip with some amazing soundscapes and beats! the material he played (or some of it) may be going to a pretty well known label... so keep your eyes out. richie devine: this guy is so insane (performing or not) :) first, he had a coil shirt on. this is important. second, the music he played last night crossed so many levels and genres -- bits of jungle, idm, noise, hardcore?, ambient.. to be honest, this was one of the most original performances i have ever seen. quite amazing. imagine good solid mego style noise as re-sung by cute little aliens running around and blowing up random raver kids (complete with solid beats). phoenecia: honestly, last night seemed like a bad night for josh and rom -- which is too bad, because last time i saw them they tore the shit up! seemed to be some gear problems (sampler) which they are getting fixed before their next gig (i think SF). DO NOT MISS THESE GUYS! given that theyput on the BEST SHOW last time i saw them and no one has anything to say but amazing things about them -- im sure that the SF performance will be insane. i jsut hope they come back sometime soon. 2 silver boxes (djing): what i heard of these guys was pretty solid material. i just wish that they would appear on more flyers in so-cal. good electro-ish stuff. promoters: all of these kids are super super amazing live. please consider them for future events. thanks to the green space/orange folk for making this happen. chris. __ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ [*<n/ff> <=rr*/a|>r] - wednesdays 7-8 pm riders of the plastic groove - fridays 9-midnight kuci 88.9fm po box 4362 irvine ca 92616 green eggs and ham info line: 714.647.7750

overall. yeah, the venue was tiny. i couldn't believe it when i walked in.

yeah it's kind of aggravating, because those of us down here in so cal get to here the new stuff all the time, but the rest of the world has only heard the tracks off of the isophlux ep, which are great, but sound like crap when compared to the new stuff. the thing about alex is that with every new track i hear, his skills seem to have improved more than one could possibly imagine. it's like this guy is on some sort of exponential growth curve. really really good show from lexaunculpt.

was only able to stay for a little of richie's set, but what i heard was friggin amazing. chris is right, he really bounced all over the place. there were times i thought the speakers were just going to explode. we should tell woody harrelson that he'll have to buy a replacement set after last night. unfortunately, i missed phoenicia's set. girlfriend was tired. oh well, at this rate, i'll only have to wait another couple of years before i get to see them in LA again.... brian http://www.rain.org/~audio

Right! That does it! Why can't we hear some of his material over *this* side of the pond eh? Stop keeping him to yourselves! ;) -- Ben Coffer http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

That does it! Why can't we hear some of his material over *this* } side of the pond eh? Stop keeping him to yourselves! ;) there are three mp3s available here: http://www.peachfuzz.net/lexaunculpt/downloads.htm i know the middle one was definitely played at the show and i think of it as lex's hip-hip track since it kind of morphs in that direction. all tracks are top notch! __________________________________________ E r i c F r a n s :: efrans@earthlink.net cellular | si-{cut}.db | so-cal idm swope transmissions http://home.earthlink.net/~efrans

what is about you local IDM'ers and your girlfriends??? Dave also left early cuz of his gurlie Hey So Cal'ers if your chix are like dat, just leave em at home to play with the cat or something. why would you risk missing a gig like last nite? Poor Ol' Dave (Warpyourself@hotmail.) missed Richie Divine cuz his gal was tired. UGH. I feel sorry for you all. Tis why my wife (I mean my Xwife) ummm rarely would go to shows with me. Hope you learn yer lessons mates. I mean it's cool to wanna expose yer friends, lovers, family to "our" wierd noisey shit, but at least buy them a cup of coffee, or better yet spend $15 to fill them up with Oxygen at the bar. Man Hollywood is stupid ok, sorry for the off topic post, but I was dissappointed to see some of my friends leave early:(
