***Robert: re: John Tejada's "Little Green Lights And Four Inch Faders" album (2 X LP/CD) on A13. Cat# is AA004. Good stuff. There's a review of this album on http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition along with an interview with John Tejada on one of the recent In The Mix shows. Interestingly, the material on this album was recorded over two years ago, but still sounds fresh. The album was supposed to come out in November, but has now been pushed back to Feb. Mr. Hazeltine is a Tejada pseudonymn, but he hasn't done--and isn't planning on doing soon--a Hazeltine full length. After the A13 comes out, Tejada is planning on a Palette comp (old and new stuff) on his label. Plug Research is talking with two artists about new albums for PR, but nothing I can confirm--yet :) Hope this helps. Your subject line is a PE quote? :) "my 98 oldsmobile goes um um umum ummm." Vroom! Andrew

Scored a cool 12" the other day that some of the more electro-minded on the list might appreciate; Mental Blox "Machine" on Spinyl Records. The original's not all that striking IMHO, but it's got a so-so Atom Heart remix and another John Tejada remix that's simple but effective. Drexciya-styled dark electro backed by a repeated "You are a machine" sample, had me body-poppin' across the record store. And I thought Tejada just did tech-house...worth it for that remix alone. BTW, thanks to all for the Jackyl and Hyde/Dynamix advice and for getting me back on the electro list. Appreciated. Last second thought: anyone ever had dealings with Sonic Groove online before? I went to their site looking for the Jackyl 12" the other day, and they've got a ridiculous amount of out-of-print records listed in their catalog. All kinds of old Planet E, Electron Industries, Rephlex. Do they actually stock what they list or is this just one of those lame deals where they never update the web site? ____________________________________ Brock Phillips - bphil@email.unc.edu WXYC 89.3 FM The New Science Experience Tune in every Sunday night 10-12 AM EST http://www.wxyc.org for live RA broadcast Promos, demos, etc. welcome for submission Email for postal address and details... ***Brock: Tejada is adept at many styles. In fact, he used to be a championship winning hip hop DJ, has done tons of hip hop, house, techno, electro, etc. His day job is doing hip hop sample CDs, actually. There's an interview with him on http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition as well as an exclusive DJ mix. Andrew
