KUCI 88.9fm and the UCI Department of Information and Computer Science will be hosting their tenth official live remote on Friday, April 7, 2000. Performing live will be Lexauncupt. Though he has never been on Riders of the Plastic Groove, the tweeky and abstract sounds of Lexaunculpt should be very familiar to the regular KUCI listener. He will be performing at 9pm sharp, so arrive early! Also performing will be DJs Kid Sonic (who is reason enough to arrive early!), Marcus & Blair (two very groovy house DJs) and J Bondy (Funky Breaks like no other!). The event will run from 8pm - 1am outside at the University of California of Irvine Computer Science Plaza. It is free and open to the public. The live remote broadcast for the radio program Riders of the Plastic Groove is the next in a series of attempts by UCI's ICS department and KUCI to provide new and original entertainment for UCI students and staff as well as surrounding community members. KUCI's remotes have provided entertainment for hundreds of supporters within the electronic music community. Past guests have included Taylor, Spirit, Members of Bassland, Membraneous, Rob Roy, Kid Sonic, Blair, OM, J Bondy, Guido, Tom Allain, Marcus, MC Borris, Huggie, Dr Mario, Twenty Twelve, Andren & Scott Allen, Little D, Rainbow, Alisa, Pieter K, Bradley B, Wonder Bred, Dave C, Dean Decosta, Jamie Thinnes, Kyle, David Hopper, Dennis Simms, Mr. Lumpy, Thee-O, Ryan Lum of Love Spirals Downwards, Harp, Dave Panek, Max Alert, Chris C and more. Riders of the Plastic Groove airs every Friday night from 9pm to midnight. The program showcases the best in local and international electronic DJs and artists. Tune in locally at 88.9fm online at www.kuci.org. Directions to the event/ UCI Computer Science/Engineering Plaza: 405s or 55s to 73s Exit Bison - Make left 2 lights - East Peltason - Make right 1st stop sign - Left into parking lot Make 2nd right in parking lot and park. Listen for music. (In the courtyard near the 10 story building and the 3 story building.) Contributions (Props, costumes, visuals, art, etc) are encouraged. At this time we are not accepting vendors. Please respect us by leaving your alcohol at home, picking up your trash, and using the theory of "less is more" when handing out flyers that very well may end up on the ground.
