same here. sfwdprod stuff is going to finially happen. think that 99% of the artists that are involved are bedroom composers, and know that pretty much all the work on my end setting stuff up has been worked on in various bedroom/smoking/computer room setups (in several different states now :) chris, whose on vacation in calif, enoughing all the cds and records that came here instead of to washington, has lots of unanswered mails about this stuff... ! np: black dog babylon !!!! yes yes yes!

wow. if you heard this track on the 97 live demo and even remotely enjoyed it (the one with the female vocals), seek this thing out. only was able to give this a brief once through, but jesus. this is *a-mazing*. if a plaid/black dog whose better than who arguement follows, PISS OFF. let the dog stand on its own, because if nothing else proves that this damn fine disc does. did i miss the poll? hope not, know this will be included on mine more than once :) told this has been released in the uk. got my as an x-mas gift of sorts and can't say i've seen it on the weekly lists, but i'm sure its easily requested. on warner (course, so was the split plan 9/black dog, which i've yet to find, but....) just find it, really. its sweet. full review as soon as i get a proper full couple listens in... the dog is back!!!!

"Babylon" isn't due for full commercial release until sometime in January. What you've got is probably the promo CD which looks like a proper release except for the usual "for promo use only" printed on the disc. It has 10 tracks (and the 2x12" promo has 8, with 7 appearing on the CD and 1 vinyl only), and I've heard that the commercial release may not include all of the mixes. All that aside, it's a fucking great release. I just can't decide if I should include it in my top picks for '98, or wait to include it in '99 since that's when it really comes out. :) Greg

I've been writing on and off for a while, as well as playing classical cello and piano and playing cello in a rock band and a pop band (see .sig) Two mp3s of me electronic trackscan be found at http://www.fourplay.com.au/sound.html I've also done about 1/4 of a remix (so far) for Reckankreutzungsklankewerkzeuge's Attention: Cats remix project, though whether it'll be good enough or not is another question! I'll put mp3s up when I'm done. we're about to put together a comp. of past and new tracks, all done in a basement too :-) it's gonna be limited due to our limited forces, but if any of the labels around IDM feel like publishing our stuff, get in contact. you can find some real audio at http://www.tinet.ch/table soon nd ///////////////////////////////////////////////////// http://www.tinet.ch/table table homepage - good electronic music http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Rue/1087/RECORDS.HTM records for sale or trade guardati da coloro che prima ti danno consigli e poi parlano male di te, cornuto! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////

me. i work 96.3% out of the bedroom. dunno if material will appear anywhere anytime but i am starting a lab(el),, (isn't everyone?) plus, countless other listmembers are producing stuff, i know. just ask lance to throw out his list of listmember/musicians that he posted a few months back. anyway, me thinks it's time to remind the list of our 'idm remix chain' http://members.xoom.com/multsanta/idmremix.htm , which, after much delay is now complete (whoo hoo!). a whole bunch of people from this list are involved and it's basically a thing on line with the dot 'endlessism' project. a release is pending (maybe.. hopefully)

Nah, Phonics (the main [only?] North American distro for Diskono) asked Stu to wait until after Xmas to send them copies. So it should arrive at Phonics HQ by mid January, and at skimo & other shops soon afterwards. I believe the new V/Vm stuff (the first four Machine 7"s and the vvmPIG) will be arriving around the same time. Greg

I've been lucky to see a bunch of my friends' bedrooms where they make music. One of them is Novel23, who received some typed characters on this list recently. The two others are Fizzarum, whom we also proud to host at http://fizzarum.mu.ru . In my ears, their music comes along with Bola, Plod, Autechre, Funkstoerung - all whom you may be voting for. The pages may have poor English - we haven't filtered it out yet. Just download music bits and listen. 'Ursa-Majoris' video has got a painful quality, but inside there are exciting textual comments from Steve 'Loopz' Price and Paul Hartnoll. Happy creative Nu Year, the last one beginning with 1. -- Stay tuned, MhZ mailto:mzabal@module.vympel.msk.ru http://www.mu.ru/reverbs
