I'd like to throw that track 10 on Skampler in my 'lektro set, it's a short groover:) anyway, to my point. HOW LONG TO Plates last? How many chances can I spin a plate before it starts to suck in quality? motherfucking limited SKAM 12"es from yesteryear. Why oh Why wasn't I paying attention? I HATE CDS!!!!!!!!!!! damn, gilly

I heard something like you can use a dubplate 50 to 80 times. Bye Sebastian -- Sebastian Herrfurth (seher@cs.tu-berlin.de) pages for Bernd Friedmann / Riz Maslen / Daniel Meier / DJ Krush / ... at http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~seher/music.html

I think 50 times is about right. While searching for some of the same info, I came across Aaardvark Mastering: http://www.aardvark-mastering.com/ In addition to having info on vinyl mastering services (out of his home!), this site contains a ton of information about the record manufacturing process. Also I notice that nobody who presses these records call them dubplates. They are referred to as acetates or reference lacquers. Its really cool site if you dig vinyl.

because a laquer and a dubplate is the same thing. Only difference is that the laquers used for dubplates are normally 10"s Thaddi
