Hi Chris, I might as well ask this publically... In my opinion 1998 was the year of the compilation. There were SO MANY amazing compilations, I think it's a great pity to only have one nomination allowed in this category - even three can't do justice to the stuff that was out there. So... I know it's a long shot, and too late, but anyway, can't we nominate three compilations? Here's a list of just a few fantastic ones for everybody out there to consider, of which it's very hard to decide between the first 5 listed at least: Blip, Bleep (Lucky Kitchen) Highways Over Gardens (Carpet Bomb) Endlessnessism (Dot) - YES it's 1998 even though on the CDs it says 1997 Funkungfusion (Ninja Tune) Diskono [x] and Diskono [y] (Diskono) I'm So Bored With the USA (Diskono) Underwood 3 (Sub Rosa) Deutscher Funk (Capirinha) WAP100 "We Are Reasonable People" (Warp) Avantgardism 2 (Law & Auder/ Blue Angel) State of the Nu-Art 2 (Blue Planet) Plus two great Australian compilations: The Freaky Loops comp, and Jaunt II. And on and on... You get the idea. Yes it is an excellent comp but it came out in the Fall of '97 so it won't qualify for this year's poll. But Deutscher Funk vol 2 will be out in early 99 so that one will be eligible for next years poll. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
