Thanks, Chris, for posting the poll. Is this open only to IDM-L subscribers, or can I poll my pals? Now to the gritty bitz. Hmmm. Plastikman deff does it for me, but is Consumed "Techno"? Is it "Chill Out"? Or is it just plain best of... ? And "House or Techno" all in one box? Does something like Aphex's Compilation fall under the Compilations category, or is it regarded as a full-length album by the same artist and compilations have various contributors? Also singles/EP's ... not something we get to buy much here in sunny South Africa (hey, Iain, back me up - I'm all in Solitary now). I don't check e-mail addresses against the list roster, so I won't know if voters are on the list. Please don't try to stuff the ballot box, though (not that I think Irene would do so, but someone tried it last year).

The latter. Basically, if individual tracks are listed as artist and title, rather than just title, it's probably a compilation (there have been exceptions, though, like BDP's 'Bytes'). So Aphex's 'Classics' is an album, but FSOL's 'Earthbeat' is a compilation. Yes, I know this is arbitrary. C. -- Chris.Hilker (cspot@hyperreal.org)
