basic channel, chain reaction, etc material is consistently available with very good quality vinyl. i just started getting the whole back catalog last year and have yet to have any problems. considering that some of the 12's are from 93-94 i think it would be a safe bet that they have repressed several times by now. cl

heh, another case of synchronicity. I just received Various artists 1-7 (cr02 I think) and it came warped. The warping was because of the shrinkwrap. So, I am pretty sure that this is a common problem. -daniel On Sun, 20 Dec 1998, cl wrote:

the recent hardwax mail out listed the entire chain reaction back catalogue in their new section... is this just extra stock that they've always had or has this old material been repressed? im quite keen to pick up some of the back catalogue but im wary of ordering some of the older titles that if they are available at all may be warped from sitting around too long in shrinkwrap. Some of the items that have been ordered for people at a local store have been warped in this manner and the owner has had to give the 12s away, as such he is reluctant to take orders for this stuff now. Just wanted to find out before i order. repress or not? phylistine

I would expect that records pressed in Detroit get shrink-wrapped because that is a common practice for domestic records. So these are alot more likely to be warped. The quality of vinyl pressings from Detroit are kind of sketchy at times. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
