I'll second that evaluation.
First off, nice clean artwork. Looks like an overhead shot of some
massive public work designed by Calatrava.
Second, the MC track was a laugh because of the freakish twisting on the
vocals...to take it too seriously is to have crawled up too far into D.
Fitton's ass/arse. The rapping on the new Funkstorung, while cutting
new ground, isn't as insightful and original as this.
Third, there's a stronger focus on percussive sounds, their syncopation,
and interaction between them and Bola's signature long melodies. On the
whole, these cuts drive more than those on Soup. Considering how
f@cking long it took to get another relase from Fitton, I'm not upset
with that change. Those who insist on drawing a parallel with Autechre
will find this more in line with their material as it might have been
between Tri Repetae and Envane. And that applies really only to
"Syblex."
Fourth, oh, that fourth track, "Vespers." Thick and Soupy.

PS: first (and only the first) time I played the track "Mauver," I had
a flashback to A Flock of Seagulls' "Modern Love is Automatic," with
that, erm, wicked guitar! Woohoo 1982!
