differences between grooverider's "mysteries of funk" the 2cd comes in a gorgeous book-like casing, similar to mowax' head2 limited edition. the images are the same as on the 1cd. the 2cd is two hours of music. there are only two (?) additional tracks compared to the 1cd, but almost all of the tracks are longer than on the 1cd. cybernetic jazz 12.18 rainbows of colour 8.22 time & space 7.11 where's jack the ripper 9.15 fly with me 1.56 c funk 11.44 starbase 23 10.19 time & space (heavens mix) 3.03 rivers of congo 8.29 imagination (parts 1&2) 8.25 560° 7.22 imagination (part 3) 4.55 stay with me 10.01 rainbow of colour (heaven's breath) 0.17 i seem to remeber several of these being severely trunkated on the 1cd, but what do i know? maybe they sound fine that short. i'm not going to bother check anyway, i like the long versions. hs ______________________________ WHAT will you call the police?

from www.grooverider.com: For a limited period only, the album will be available as a Quadruple vinyl LP sheathed in a heavy slipcase and pressed on supaheavyweight 180gsm virgin vinyl (top quality for the true vinyl connoisseur) and a Double CD in special packaging. The limited editions have a total running time of just under 2 hours, while the standard single CD album contains all the same tracks but edited down to just under 80 minutes. ---- that should clear that one up... speaking of grooverider, i got this white label of his 'rainbows of colour' track in the mail the other day from this promoter... 2 mixes. not the album version or master's at work mix (from what i can tell from the above website)... could be the optical and grooverider mixes i guess... pretty decent, yet nothing too special dn'b. as far as a new autechre release... last time I spoke to the interscope peeps (when the warp/nothing releases were coming out) she said there was a new full-length (not lp5) coming out on nothing in the new year... and she "thought" it might be a nothing-only release. she didn't sound overly knowledgeable about it though...so whatever good that gossip does for you...
