Brad Stryder anyone? No, these guys are for real, I saw them play live and Mike P. was nowhere in sight. They are not Mike Paradinas or Richard James or Chris Jeffs. heres the details for Two-ism, we're taking a track from this for mfr #1 boards of canada - twoism [music 70] 1995 [sixtyniner / oirectine / iced cooley / basefree / twosim / see ya later / melissa juice / smokes quality] only 100 copies pressed as a promotional tool, were given away to friends or sent to labels, rephlex must have cloth ears; a couple of the tracks have also appeared elsewhere, 'see ya later' on skam 08, 'trapped' on Mask 2 was a reworked version of 'basefree' most of the tracks are on the same tip as 'see ya later', fusion of subtle head nodding beats and steel edged but emotive electronics, nice to see richard james has taken notice on 'come to daddy' cheers stuart @ mfr http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/mfr/ cutting edge mail order..elecktronic label [esoteric, non-generic material wanted]

Is _trapped_ the one with the Colonel Abrahams sample? I always thought that was BoC but now I suppose it's official. Actually I co-opted the suspicion from someone no longer active on this list. Must admit I can't really hear much similarity between them and the new Aphex. adam

Just a wee note to say that I have still to hear from BoC about the back catalog of releases to be made available, just to let the interested parties know I have not forgotten about them. In recompense there are some new samples from their first demo tape 18 months ago, with more to come, at EHX. A bit short and low quality but enough to get the juices going ... Just to let you all know that I will be removing the audio clips off their 1995 demo tape from the web site soon, so check them out now if havent already done so. I am still in nogiciation in getting more copies of this tape. Also, I have recently acquired a small number of their first vinyl release: Twoism. If you have emailed me previously about this, dont worry, I have your details on file and will be in touch soon. Copies will be sent on a strict first come first served basis, using the date in the header of your initial email. So, no more requests for a copy of this EP please. boards of canada - aquarius KMAS001 7" 500 copies only tracklising__ aquarius chinook release date - january 5th :) neither of these tracks will appear on their forthcoming album which is a joint project between skam & warp records. boards of canada originate from the north east coast of scotland, where they begun recording on a home hi-fi set up around 1983. various xtra band members have come & gone since 1986, but the main duo of mike & marcus have always stuck to the original home made sound. their first vinyl release was _twoism_ an eight track LP limited to 100 copies which they produced & financed themselves in 1995. h aving supported Ae, panasonic & cylob in july of 1996, they released the _high scores_ e.p. through skam records. 1997 saw their second support slot with Ae and a headline @ versivo [the skam club] in manchester. their live show soon became a talking point, highlighted by their continued use of video footage derived from www.koons.demon.co.uk [fs / trade - from this evening GMT]
