Finally got a chance to give the new Wildplanet album a listen. It's a
very well put together "album" (as opposed to a collection of songs
where there's enough to tracks to call it an "album"). A variety of
tempos, moods, and styles, from techno to tech house to electro to idm
to downtempo to chill, a bit of everything. Lots to play out on the
dancefloor and equally suited for home listening. Simon "Wildplanet"
Hartley has an interesting history (his best friend when he was a
youngster in the UK was former LFOer Mark Bell) and discography
(releases on Warp, etc) and he'll be a guest on In The Mix show 579.
We'll talk to Simon and play some tracks from the forthcoming album (due
for release in Jan or Feb 99). Might be giving away some Wildplanet
vinyl as well. Here's the initial tracklist for the album:
Wildplanet--Transmitter CD/2 X LP (430 West/Detroit)
1. It's All In Your Mind
2. I Should Fly
3. Transmitter
4. Synthetic
5. Frozen Signal

7. Every City
8. Fuel
9. Octave
10. Digital Age
11. Vocoder
12. Symphonize

this may not be the final order of the commercial release's
tracklisting. Release will premiere in its entirety on
http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition just before it's commerically
available.
Thanks. Andrew
