I've picked up three Paul Mac singles from the Fragmented label and one on Fracture under the name of Quentin Garlic. All of these singles are awesome. They either lean toward minimal techno or Detroit. Really quality releases!! I was just curious who is this guy? Is he British or American? He's definitely really influenced by Detroit techno. I've heard that his full-length is suppose to be really good. Any Comments? I heard a brand new single by him on Stimulus. It was very good but I didn't pick it up because I have enough minimal. ps - Thanks Lance for telling me Quentin Garlic was Paul Mac. Paul seems to do different records in different styles. He mainly does minimal techno, tech-house, and smooth detroit stuffs. I personally prefer the smooth detroit stuffs myself.

Paul Mac is a london-based producer that has been releasing stuff under a variety of different guises and labels since 1995. Some of the labels he's released on are Not Guilty, Fracture, Fragmented, RWK, Mosaic, and his own Stimulus imprint. Here are a few of my favorite Paul Mac releases: . Paul Mac: Outerspace Obsessive 12" (Fracture) . Quentin Garlic: Independent Order of Oddfellows 12" (Fracture) . Huburtus Krantz: Disturbe No 12" (Fracture) . Jorge Zamacona: Mosaic Efforts Vol. 1 12" (Mosaic) . Paul Mac: Seaside Electronics 12" (Fragmented) . Paul Mac: Bateman Tower 12" (Fragmented) . Herman Funker III: Extra Time 12" (Stimulus) . Steve O'Sullivan & Paul Mac: Version x3 12" (RWK)

Here is an old recoreview of it... . Paul Mac: Old School Former Pupil cd (Fragmented) I've been a fan of Paul Mac's material since '96 when he released his superb Outerspace Obsessive ep on the Fracture label. Since then Paul has been producing solid detroitesque minimal techno and tech-house records on a variety of labels including Stimulus, Fracture, Mosaic, and Fragmented. On this, his first album, Paul delivers seventeen tracks of deep detroit- flavored tech-house, minimal techno and even one electro track all segued by a handful of jazzy, funky, dubby interludes. Out of the eleven legitimate tracks, the best are the six are superb lush detroit-sounding techno tracks in the Carl Craig or Jamie Read vein and the three in the detroit minimal techno/Claude Young style. Unfortunately the 2x12" is missing four or five of the tracks on the cd, but then again the 2x12" has two tracks that aren't on the cd, so i guess you miss some tracks either way. Don't you love it when record companies do that? Overall a great release by Paul Mac for lovers of different flavors of detroit-sounding techno. 8/10

No problem. But dont forget that Paul Mac is also Herman Funker III, Huburtus Krantz, Jorge Zamacona, and (i think) Eddie Fiola, Ralph Farquar, Huebsch Originators, and The Ferocious Physics Quintet. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
