went to borders tonight where they had teh following: mouse on mars:vulvaland:$11.99 mouse on mars:iaora tahiti:$11.99 hawtin/namlook:from within 3:$17.99 maurizio:?:$15.99 pretty happy with the prices, considering lots of the stuff there is really over- priced. the maurizio is in a metal case with nine lp stickers on the "cover". does this have a title? also, is this one of the infamous metal cases that cause the CDs to break? i had a hell of a time just getting it out the first time. thanks, alan!

No. It's his only CD under the name Maurizio, so it's pretty easy to spot. The stickers refer to the original 12"s the tracks come from, although it does indicate that a lot are remixes and so on. The 12"s are just 'M1' through 'M7'. | also, is this one of the infamous metal | cases that cause the CDs to break? i had | a hell of a time just getting it out | the first time. Yep, it most certainly is. I've got a weird situation with my Various Artists CD, where there is a clear crack running a centimetre or so from the center of the disc, and every track plays fine. I was quite surprised, because I understood that the first mm or so of the CD (reading out from the middle) contained all the basic track info, that allowed the CD to be read at all. When I saw the crack, I thought I would've lost the whole damn disc. the nine stickers are the "tracklist", it's the label art from the M label 12's that the comps tracks were culled from. no title per se other than "maurizio label comp". now distributed domestically by caroline/EFA i beleive, so can be had quite cheaply if you look around. this is ESSENTIAL, if you don't already have the 12's. deep, hypnotic qrooves produced in the dubby processed berlin manner that only moritz v.o. & company can pull off. much more info at ines' most excellent techno sound of berlin site: http://www.snafu.de/~circonium/

i've never had a problem with any of my chain reaction / M / R&S CD's. the solution? -- play the hell out of 'em and never give 'em a chance to get put back in the box!! np: underwood: leonardo di caprio game peeeeeeeece,

These were recently re-released as midline (i.e. "nice price") CDs: they're $11.97US _list_. They're an utter steal at this price-- anyone who doesn't have them already should take advantage. -d.w.
