hi all, it goes without saying that i love, cherish, can't get enough of all the fila brazillias, so i recently got baby mammoth's another day at the orifice and 1 2 freak, which are just as great. i'm getting suspicious that i'll have to get the entire pork catalog. before i do that, can anybody give recommendations (maybe in comparison to the aforementioned)? thanks, tom

The latest Fila Brazilia outing wasn't quite as good as what I've heard in the past from Pork. Too many samples and not enough synth washing... maybe that's more of a comment on my personal affectations. Try the stuff from Heights of Abraham. A little more mellow but top notch in terms of Pork. Also, PLEASE do yourself a favor and check out a compilation from the Solid Doctor (the name escapes me). I've got Solid Doctor's Beats Means Hight (Pork 030) which is really nice, very spliffy, if you will - but laid back and dubby for hot summer nights. They've released something after this one ??? but I haven't heard it.

I tend to differ in opinion on the views expressed above. Power Clown is a very enjoyable album, if not quite as "head-sy" as, say, Mess (which is my favourite Fila B.) CRAYZEE cover art. Probably Sty Wars (V/A sampler) is a good one to get. I *
