***Thomas Brinkmann runs the Ernst and Max labels out of Cologne. All of the Ernst releases have been and will be by Brinkmann. He has 13 releases planned. Each Ernst 12" has two tracks, each with a woman's name and they go alphabetically. Thus, Ernst 01 A..../B...., Ernst 02 C..../D.... The Max label uses a man's name instead, and also runs alphabetically in the same way. Complete discographies for Brinkmann on the Brinkmann page on http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition The Max label is not solely Brinkmann, though. Max 02 is from Marcus Schmickler (involved with A-Musik, connected to Mouse On Mars), and is called "Christian/Daniel". According to Brinkmann, it's "acid; very hysterical stuff". An interview with Thomas Brinkmann will be online on the Cognition Audioworks site by Monday or Tuesday. Hope this helps. Andrew NeuROM-X wrote:

would these ernst lps sound anything like the concept variations he did for richie hawtin. if they aren't similiar, allow me to explain his remixes for hawtin. he took the previously existing concept songs that richie hawtin composed against time. he used his own specially built turntables with 30kg plates and two tone arms to expose different dynamics of the original songs. very cool, very rare. you must enjoy minimal, repetitive stuff to even begin enjoying it. hope that helps, bubba -- The only certainty is that there is nothing certain Pliny the Elder (c.23-79)

yes the ernst eps are even more minimal than his concept variations. so if you like your minimal techno minimal to the point of skeletal then go for these. personally i love them. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
