Just finished interviewing Cologne's Thomas Brinkmann (and can happily
report the line was clearer than the Pole/Vainqueur/Substance connection
two weeks ago :) ). Plenty of talk about his Studio 1 Variations,
Concept Variations, extra tonearm use, literally cutting records with
blades, his ideas on what's needed in electronic music, ernst, max, why
he uses womens' names/mens' names for titles, suppose, etc (ws a long
talk, 60 min + --anyone willing to contribute to a "help Andrew pay his
phone bill" fund? :) --, and haven't had a chance to fully digest it yet
:) ) I'll be getting it online on
http://www.globalserve.net/~cognition
tomorrow, time permitting. Adding tour details to the Brinkmann page on
the site as they are confirmed . BTW, latest max release, max 2 is from
Marcus Schmickler--"Christian/Daniel". As Brinkmann says,(quoting from
memory, here), "it's acid, very hysterical stuff, though." He's looking
forward to playing Windsor, Montreal, and Cleveland, and there's a
possibility of him playing an afterhours in Columbus right after the
Cleveland gig. Thanks. Andrew
